Coinjoins can improve Lightning's privacy by severing input-output links when opening and closing channels. Currently, observers can identify multiple channels belonging to the same user through on-chain patterns: channels opened in one block or closed in one transaction. Mixing these operations through coinjoins masks the correlation while preserving LN's native off-chain privacy.
